It's In The Stars?

I engage in a few guilty pleasures that I wouldn't ordinarily share with friends or coworkers, and one of them is surreptitiously checking for my astrology once a month. I've come to anticipate the first day of the new month in order to check out the predictions for the month ahead. As soon as I spot that the new installment has been updated to the web, I rush to the copy room to grab the printout as it snakes out of the printer. I particularly enjoy the predictions from this site, and more than a few times have shivered at finding them spookily "on".

The last few months' reports have been tantalizing. Paraphrasing these, I've seen a few years of bad straits -- money problems, career stalls, difficult family and other personal relationships. But: Be patient, Sagitarius! The full moon of June 21 will beckon in a new period of several years that will see all the tough times behind you! And I will enter a new, powerful and creative chapter of my life.

A week or so I half-heartedly applied for a small internet-related company that BIPC is gobbling up, one that is based in a location that meets "The Plan" (a place where I've already lived and that I know I like), that fits well with my background and is at a level that represents a promotion. I have been called for an interview.

But, more surprising, the boys have been falling into my lap! I've been asked out on three dates in the last few weeks. There is a trend...

"Do you realize how old I am?"
"I like older men."
"Uhm... uh, well... OK."

What have I to lose?

I have avoided anyone under 35, let alone anyone under 30. I'm breaking my own rules! They all seem like genuinely nice guys. Friendly, upbeat, nothing to hide, no hidden agendas. They're cute, too, but not in a pretty-boy circuit party way, no label queens or otherwise concerned with material consumption. They're cute in their own, natural ways.

One is a temp hired here at BIPC; he sought me out. More rules broken. Tall, dark, smart, an engineer. Another, I met in a bar: Bubbly, evena bit goofy, a stocky weightlifter. Palestinian, with beautiful eyes. Another contacted me on-line. A movie lover, a webdesigner with his own business, and a part-time model.

I'm giddy!
